Two Field Farm is gearing up for season three.

I have been working on farms since 1997, starting at Box Elder Acres in Michigan where I am from. Farmer Asa used to keep a keg of beer in the cooler and insisted that he didn't need to drink water, even on the hottest days, because the beer had water in it. Needless to say, his wife Peggy really ran the show while Asa ran the tractor.

After years of apprenticing, interning, working on crews, managing crews, managing managers and trying not to completely destroy my body, I decided to start a farm with a dear friend. With land from local landowners who, for various reasons, wanted to see their fields used, we were able to start a small CSA and market business. Although I lost my partner after the first year, I have been able to continue and grow this business with a deeper commitment to the joy it brings both to me and to all of those who participate, whether by purchasing vegetables at the farmer's market or by becoming a shareholder in the CSA or by visiting the field and simply seeing food grow.

I am honored to continue the tradition in my family of farming--my dad's father was a farmer in Michigan--and of small business owenership-- my mom's father owned shoe stores in and around Detroit. I thank you for your interest in this farm.
